5/10 Movie: Hancock (2008)

The movie that was in the trailer (anti-social drunk homeless guy with super powers goes to prison and cleans up his act) was pretty good... but unfortunately 'Hancock' didn't just stop there... they tried to get a little deeper w/ the character development and what not and I think it was extraneous and distracting... Maybe they didn't want to just be 'My Super Ex-Girlfriend' (basically a straight comedy)...

I'll give it a 5/10 (almost a 6, but not quite).

Heh the parts you criticized it for were actually the parts I was happy about in the movie. Oh well different tastes. Only part I didn't really like was the cheesy bad guys.

5/10 ...seriously? I'd say a solid 7. It was funny, and doesn't reveal the whole plot in the beginning. Most movies you already know the whole story before even sitting in the theater.

the first half was OK.... then the whole movie kind of turned into a different movie....

lmf- yes, after a while the breaking stuff got pretty boring... it wasn't even done that well, just visual overload after a while...

i would have expected something better from my man, Willard Christopher Smith Jr. this was a disappointment and a waste of money and time. the only twist was that these superhumans were actually immortals (i.e. gods, angels, etc.) who were meant to be in pairs and chaos would happen when they drew closer to each other. the rest was just him flying around and breaking things. oh well... at least i'll get to see something else flying around HK this weekend, BATMAN!!!
