I don't think I've ever learned to use the chinese brush... have you?

I've always found that the chinese paintings are very simple yet very pretty... I especially love how they paint the bamboo and flowers... here are two images I found online...

some day I would really want to go to China to learn more about my culture... go to the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, the mountains, everything!! I also love the chinese style clothing... always loved the cheongsam... my grandma used to make her own cheongsam along with the shoes to match... but I think she lost a lot of it during the war years and her move to HK and then to the US... but my grandma gave one to me for keepsake... (too bad I can't fit into it though...); it was the cheongsam she made for my uncle's wedding...

I was taught how to use a brush to write characters in summer school as a kid, but really sucked at it.

Ah~~chinese brush?i remember my mom sent me to learn writing with chinese brush when i was 8 or 9,just last 2 years, it 's to be regretted that i haven't insisted on it.
using chinese brush to painting or writing can edify the mood.because it is too hard to control if you are the first time use it.i think :-P

i never asked you, do you speak cantonese or mandarin?

I love Chinese paintings! My skills on Chinese paintings are limited to what I learned through a Chinese Painting Kit that included the brush, ink and instruction book. Haha.... leaves a lot to be desired. =P

Cheongsams are so element. Very pretty! =)

I like Chinese Paintings like when they have bamboo, or mountain scenes, the simpler it is, the nicer. I wish I could do the brush strokes like them, but it's harder than it looks.

So cool to have one of your gran's handmade cheongsam, she sounds very talented. I have a cheongsam that was worn once, my waist was too thin compared to the size I needed on the hips. they are beautiful dresses.

I'm impressed with how simplistic the brush strokes of Chinese art look yet what they make up can be really intricate. It's such a lovely artform and so is the calligraphy. I want to go to China and soak in the culture too.

I love the elegant of Chinese paintings. The less color, the more it speaks to me. The owl one you have here is quite lovely. Bamboos are always attractive too. My ex-boss gave me a Chinese painting by his dad for my engagement present. Very nice. That's the only Chinese art I have.

My mom's got some old, short, mandarin-collared dresses which I now have in my possession. They're so pretty. All satin-y and with the beaded design on the front. I don't know when she wore them but it was definitely before she had children.
