hard at hearing?

today, I took a walk down memory lane... I dug out my book of cds... these were the cds that I copied from my friends... lots of "old" songs in English and Chinese... I wanted to put it into my iPod... But I like my stuff organized, so I went thru each song on the CD and try to recall the name of the song and the artist... some were easier... and some were just too hard for me to think of the name... hahaa...  and some I just didn't know who sang it... *shrugs*

anyway, I had the music blasting and then my phone rings... I looked... I don't know this number; wasn't going to answer it, but I thought, I should answer it anyway because maybe it's someone calling me about a job since I did send out my resume to certain job openings...

me: "Hello."
lady: "Is this Jane?"
me: "Yes."
lady: (then I was at a lost what the lady said)... "You do web design right?"
me: "uhm... yes."

then the conversation just kinda went on that she wanted to get a website done and she knows someone else who may be interested in getting a website done as well if they think I am good.   anyway, she went on and asked when we could meet to talk about it... I was still at a lost here... but it went on for a little bit and I asked her what's her name... finally got her name down after she repeated a few times... and I asked how did she find out about me... my mom's friend referred me (and this was a client that I was supposed to help do a website for before going to HK but she never got back to me after she told me that I was too expensive) so I was quite surprised that she referred me to other people... hmm... interesting, eh?

but I guess she really wanted things to get done ASAP because she wanted to meet tomorrow... but I can't... gotta prep for a night to see Dan Wu... hahaa... so I suggested Monday... but she said, what about the weekend? uhm... I'm pretty busy this weekend... hahaa... well, we set the appointment for Tuesday... hahaa...

what a funny surprise for the day... hahaa... completely random...

but I don't know why it is so hard for me to understand people on the phone... last night Lilly called me and she asked if she woke me up. but I had a hard time trying to figure out what she asked me (and I didn't want to say yes or no) poor Lilly end up having to repeat herself like 4-5 times... sorry...

it sucks because this happens all the time... like when AC100 called me when I was in HK... I think she probably said her name 4-5 times too, but I couldn't understand her... in the end I just asked if I could call her back because I was at the Andy Lau concert when she called... hahaa... sorry... then hour or two later, I had the moment of, "OH! I know who that was!!~" I'm such a dork...

anyone else have this problem? or is it just me? damn, maybe I gotta stop blasting the music... hahaa...
