    so... you may recall (or not) of my postings on finding the bridesmaid dress that I liked... I actually did order it online as of September 27, 2007... and I still haven't received it yet... but there was a charge of $125 on my credit card on December 19, 2007... so I thought, I should be getting my dress soon... they said it usually takes about 12 weeks or so... well... it'll be 6 months soon... so I've been trying to get the hold of this company "My Bridal Box" but no luck... on the bottom of their website it says the website was hosted by Wedding Window (which is the Merchant name on my credit card charge) so I figure after a week of trying to call and email My Bridal Box (MBB), I thought I'd email Wedding Window as well...

    they were prompt in their response... and the president from Wedding Window(WW) called me personally saying they have been trying to reach MBB as well and have not been able to reach them, so they immediately blocked out their website and credited me back the $125 *phew* but the president from WW recommended me to report this matter to my credit card company as well because my credit card information is still in the hands of MBB...

    I'm very lucky that WW was very prompt and nice about it... but now I will have to hunt down the dress again... just as I thought I would be getting it soon... it's okay... I consider that I'm lucky that I didn't get anymore unauthorized charges on my credit card...

    it's weird though cause for awhile the people at MBB were responding to email... but now they are unreachable... err...

    and just last week, my mom's credit card also had two unauthorized transactions thru paypal...

    yea i don't feel safe purchasing stuffs online unless it's a big department store or an established brand.  PayPal sucks, once someone illegally used PayPal to retrieve 2k from WHH thru' 10 small withdrawals.  Luckily the bank notified WHH so he got back the money.  My PayPal account often gets unauthorized withdrawal, but fortunately my card on file was already canceled.  PayPal isnt' safe at all!!

    It's good you got back your money & there wasn't any unauthorized charges on your card.  Sorry to hear about your Mom's credit card.  Sometimes I still am paranoid about purchasing stuffs online.  =/

    credit card theft has become so much easier thanks to the internet, it makes my blood boil. It's good that WW was quick to respond and offer advice on what to do with MBB. But it's annoyin that you have to hunt down another dress.

    Your poor mum, and I thought Paypal was supposed to be one of the safest ways to pay. That's terrible.

    Oh my goodness. If it happens to me, I'd spend the first 15 minutes swearing @#$^, then I'd probably prepare a complaint letter  to Better Business Bureau.  

    All in all, I hope you will have enough time to find another bridesmaid dress.

    Oh I'm glad they were prompt on that issue!
    Its scary when things like that happen...
    So what color are the dresses gonna be? I opted for the brown,pnk, gold theme =)

    hey you are lucky to get your refund without getting the dress. I hate it when this happens! I've been through before and it could be really frustrating and scary at the same time.

    Sorry to hear about the dress, but it's a good thing that you got credited back for the dress.

    Dresses shouldn't take that long at all to alter or anything. Should at least take them 3 days or 5 max. But then I guess it really depends on a first come first serve or priority listing.

    Sounds like you should cancel your credit cards just in case. Including your mothers. Once they get your information, that stuff can be saved or used without your notice. Becareful Jane.

    You have to be so careful with unauthorized charges and fraud these days.  It's a good thing you were able to get that charge reversed.  I try to get a credit report at least once a year to make sure there isn't anything funny going on with my credit and accounts.  You and your Mom should consider doing that as well.  It's offered free and it's good to check it periodically to make sure there's nothing on there that doesn't belong to you.

    Boy Jane, you're not having much luck with that bridesmaid dress.

    Damn! A good thing you got your credit back when you noticed something fishy happening. Hope you are able to find a similar dress in a timely manner.

    It seems incredible that it would take that long to order a dress! It's the company's way to have your money for an amount of time before they deliver the goods.

    Mom should cancel that card asap. More could be going on w/ her account #. Grrr.
