Here's a quote from Chicken Soup...

Relationships - of all kinds - are like sand
held in your hand. Held loosely, with an

some of it, but most will be spilled.

When I first read this quote, I didn't really understand it, then I re-read it and I was like, OH! it's very true... since I read it, this saying/meaning has been stuck in my head...

Hmm. I agree to some extent. Relationships can also slip away if you don't hold onto them.

Yeah the quote makes sense and I think I agree in it, but when you hold the sand in an open hand in the wind, won't it blow away, perhaps we should gently close our fist, so that we still cherish and hold it dear, but it is free to come and go as it please, by just letting us know.
Now that made very little sense unless you are me!

I would agree that a good relationship should be based on respect and freedom. I also agree that tight or loose depends on the personality of someone. You have independent types and needy types.

I don't really like the analogy of the sand... but the rest of it makes sense - a relationship is always based on respect and freedom, not possessiveness :)

it is correct, i absolutely agree it...if you hold loosely, the relationship will become distant; but hold tightly, the much the worse...it's the same reason between lovers.

I like to be optimistic... sometimes I am a little negative, but that just happens... I would say it is part of life... =)
