    I noticed something today...
    -or maybe it's just me-

but I've found that whenever we are told not to do something we do it anyway... even simple things... like when we are laughing away and someone comes by to say, "Stop Laughing!" then we laugh even harder... When I read the words, "Don't cry for me."  I started getting teary-eyed.

but I'd bet even as kids we did the same things... when we were told to stop playing and to go do our homework, we'd drag and try to get in a few more minutes of play...

it's interesting how when we are told no, we say yes.   I guess it's some kind of curiosity feeling inside. But of course there are things where we are persistent on...

I don't know, I just found that to be somewhat interesting...

When I'm told repeatedly to do something, I usually have less of an inclination to do so.  I think it's my inner rebel acting up :P

Really, it all boils down to control issues.  I think it's quite natural to want to control our own destiny.  If we immediately submit to somebody else's request, then they are in control, aren't they?!?!?!

On the emotional issues, though (laughing/crying), sometimes by having others directly ("Stop laughing!") or indirectly ("Don't cry for me.") tell us what to do or not do, then I think we actually validate whatever emotion we're experiencing and it becomes even more powerful.

    Deep subject....

If you resent someone telling you what to do, whether it's to do something or stop doing sth, you're not going to want to cooperate. Happens more often with kiddies though.

Yeah you're so right. It's that little evil streak in us that tell us to rebel. :D. I hate having the fit of giggles at the worst times, becuase the harder you try to stop or the more someone tells you to stop, the worse you get.

I agree with you. It' like when you tell someone "don't turnaround", then what do they do? Then when you tell them to turn around, they question, "Why?" and resist.

But if we really know if it's wrong, we'll still stop doing certain things, right?
