the weekend fun

oh it was quite a weekend, as it was for everyone else I suppose; Mother's Day and the AnD 1 year party that everyone is talking about... 

the surprise for my grandma went smoothly... hahaa... I wanted to see the surprised face on my grandma, but I was trapped and didn't get to see it... oh wells...

the cookout was awesome!!!~ there was so much food... it took us all day to eat and we still had tons of left-overs... hahaa... lunch time we had pizza, quiche, thai wraps... then helped my aunt with some gardening work... went out for some yogurt... then came back to start dinner... there was bbq chicken, lamb chops, steak, fish, scallops, salad, mushrooms, and some take-outs from my other uncle... and then dessert was fruit tarts (that I never had ), chocolate covered pomegranate ice cream bites (YUMMY!!!!~) and cream puff... we ended up splitting the left over food... but somehow we didn't get any chicken? hahaa...

and then we spent the rest of the evening talking about childhood days... the times when my uncle drove a car and a motorcycle into the lake at 10 years old, my mom crawling downstairs to the neighbors when she was a baby, my uncle failing in school, my aunt and uncle who saved a dog who's skin/fur got ripped out from a car bumper (they stitched the flapping skin and saved the dog), my uncle who broke a leg playing soccer and still played soccer with crutches... oh all the wonderful stories... the conclusion of it? my generation had all the luxury of toys and stuff... hahaa... well, my brother and I didn't have a lot of toys, we still had to find our own entertainment... we used the over-sized blanket to play lion dance, or else we'd go bother this lady that was working with my grandma and grandpa... we'd play with her glasses and anything that was accessible... hahaa... probably drove that lady crazy... hahaa...

so yesterday, my mom and I went digging for the old black-n-white pictures... it's great... and I went digging for my pictures too... hahaa...
