SF Olympic Torch Run - This Wednesday

Lots of eyes will be in SF this week with the upcoming Summer Olympic Games. The Olympic Torch will be making its run through parts of th SF. JonTse blogged this today. The run has been a major discussion during the past weeks in SF, specifically the SF city officials and the Chinese community. I'm really happy that the Chinese community has voiced their opinions against the SF leaders. It's sad that the games has been politicized. Nancy Pelosi called for a boycott of the opening ceremonies by the U.S. My thought? All politicians STAY AWAY from the Games! You do not speak for the athletes. Why should our gov't have any say in the games? Does our gov't fund the training of our athletes? I don't think they do...at least not as much as other countries, sorry, I can't verify this? Can anyone?

Some of the SF leaders think they speak for SF. They DO NOT! Some of the local "leaders" create the controversy to further their own poliitcal career. I hate that. Whatever happened to, "I want to represent the people who voted for me" mantra? There are a few bullies within the SF Supervisors (leaders) and most recently, the bullied are starting to stand up and call them out. This is a good start. With the upcoming appearance of the Torch. I just hope that all goes well for everyone in a peaceful manner.
