Sorry, and See You Soon

I apologize for being out of the loop for so long. I am leaving in a few hours for a business trip to San Diego, and so the last week has been a hellish nightmare of preparation, work, etc.

I am not looking forward to spending 5 days in a jet-lag induced torpor, especially because I am ostensibly supposed to be an intellectual and sound/look like something other than a dope-addled loon.

At least I will be wearing the suit.

Still, I find it quite embarrassing to nod off during people's presentations, or to fall dead asleep at 4pm, then wake up at midnight and spend the next 6 hours watching television programming no one should see. The Persian Whippoorwill, tonight on The Learning Channel; The History Channel presents Hemorrhoids in History. Great English Horticulturists on The Discovery Channel.

You get the idea. I think I'll have a series of hot dates with Excedrin PM.

Still, I am looking forward to seeing my classmates and profs from graduate school.

Also on the bright side, I can buy clothes off the rack.

Oh, and the king sized bed in the hotel room will be nice too.
