  • Ghostly encounter?

    During my last trip I stayed at a hotel (I'll call it Hotel X) that I thought was a good one.  Hotel X is from a well known hotel chain with a good reputation.  We stayed at one of those long staying hotels where you could get a suite with a kitchen and all the amenities of a home away from home. 

    The first night was ok, nothing strange happened.  The second night when we saw a ball of hair (long strands of hair) on the top of the staircase leading to the master bedroom.  It wasn't my hair and I wasn't using that bedroom.  We had no idea where it came from.    Then the next morning we left the room to go get some breakfast.  We turned off all the lights before we left. After breakfast, we returned and saw that the bathroom light in the master bedroom was turned on and there were strands of long hair beside the sink and the area around the sink was wet.  Very strange!  Also, while I was watching TV in the living room, the TV just turned off by itself..... this happened TWICE.

    Something just wasn't right about the place and even though whatever/whoever was there didn't harm us or anything, I didn't feel comfortable at all.  To make matters worse, I kept remembering and thinking about something I had read about hotel beds  .  That didn't help the situation at all.  We checked out and stayed at a different hotel for the remainder of the trip. 

    Have you encountered anything strange while traveling?

    very creepy. We once stayed in an old home that was converted to a B&B. We were one of 2 couples there. I just couldn't sleep as I just had thoughts running through my mind that were creeping me out. I had a chance for a night stay at a friend of a friend's home, which was the famous schoolhouse in Bodega Bay, CA where the movie, The Birds was filmed. My friend who stayed up there on weekends when it was a B & B told me numerous times that it is haunted. They even featured it on the show, Sightings. I never took up that offer. I'm curious, but I have my limits.

    Oh I remember that creepy legends blog you did, sent shivers down my spine. And now you may of encountered something yourself. I don't blame you for getting spooked. I don't remember anything strange happening while travelling to me

    Thats scary...I would be freaked out! Never encountered anything and I certainly don't want to!!! My mom and I stayed in a hotel room in HK before and she heard some strange breathing noises right next to her at night but it wasn't me. I don't like staying in hotels anymore!

    Ive seen them...spoke to them ...... hotel rooms are always creepy.... try knocking on the doors before going in next time.

    Wow....strange indeed. But I would have loved to have known what happened & who it was. I don't know, maybe that's why guys stay away from me so much..hahaha

    Least you're okay and no danger came to you and your family.

    But this encounter reminds me of an episode of Las Vegas. A couple planted devices in the room (bathroom shower door, tv, sinks) to make the room seem haunted, and this brought in so many tourist. hehe...

    My family had (to my knowledge) a few scary encounters before! I for one can vouch for it. Once I was at home. It was Christmas 1985 and I was about 8 years old then.

    My dad bought me a JVC ghetto blaster for Xmas, and I awoke from my parents room (cos I shared my room with them then) and came out to play with my ghetto blaster near the bannisters.

    I was listening to the ghetto blaster and half an hour later I saw what was my dad in his vest and pjs come out of the room, and go downstairs to the kitchen. I said 'Morning dad' and saw him go downstairs. After about another half an hour not seeing him come up I decided to check how my mum was. So I opened the bedroom door. As soon as I did it and went in I saw my dad still sleeping there next to my mum! I couldn't believe it and my face went white as a sheet. I told my dad about what I'd seen, and he said apparently at the same time I told him he had gone downstairs he'd also heard footsteps just outside our bedroom too! And nobody had been downstairs the morning I was outside!

    Another time was around year 2000, when the whole family visited my uncle in the Midlands for a wedding. He had a very big 5-bedroom house and we stayed there for the night. My grandma slept in the snooker room, and apparently saw a dark apparition that night that tried to press on her suffocate her as she slept. She told us in the morning she hadn't had a good night's rest. It was terrible!

    i had never noticed any paranormal activities around me except for my last trip to KL and staying at my friend's apartment, he still didn't tell me the whole story, he only told me there's existence bcuz he's got the *third* eye...
    anyway, maybe it was just the cleaner who forgot to turn off the lights...and maybe it's her hair too...as for the TV...maybe it's just old...i don't know! just trying to offer some scientific explanation!

    That's pretty creepy.  I had an experience the first time I went to Paris with a few girlfriends during college.  We stayed at a pretty old but nice hotel right off of the Champs Elysees and someone told us it was rumored to be haunted the night we checked in.  We would hear strange noises at night - moaning and rattling chains and the bathroom door would open on it's own.  We left after 2 nights.

    No encounters whatsoever anywhere. Whew. I'd pee in my pants if I did have any. Yikes! Or maybe there were strange things and I just never noticed. ;)
