A day spent in Los Angeles

Sunday in LA, nice weather! At least it's warm..lol here it's freezing cold (Fresno and at home).

Well I had a great time, went with relatives for "Yum Cha" at Mission 261, on mission ave. I actually recommend you guys to visit and take a bite, it's pretty good especially the (bare with me and my cantonese translated english sounds) seung sook keurn. It's a roll, really of all the times I've eaten that appetizer, it's not in soup. But this one..YUM!!!! haha it's in soup, almost like won tong soup...yummmm...*drools for some more*

The shrimp dumplings (Ha gow) was actually okay, I've better, but big piece of shrimpy for me to chompy on.  Which was nice.

The restaurant it didn't look like a "Yum Cha" place, it looked more like a very fancy "Italian" restaurant. Has bars inside and all that stuff. It's a huge place! Nice setting and man...it still doesn't look like any regular chinese restaurant. I even walked up to it and asked, "you sure this is the right place?" lol hahaha Actually thought we were going to have Italian dim summ hahaha...odd little me...

My dad was going to be taking me to UCLA, but that was aborted since we got to LA a little late since we had to head back home cuz my dad forgot his medicine prescrīption paper...doh!

But it was all fine. We all actually ate before having dim summ with the relatives, because we were afraid that there was nothing that's going to be good to eat, but actually surprised us all.   So I got to eat me favorite buns!!!  *drool*

Good day...

So the reason to go to UCLA is because my dad is there to get his medical condition checked up on. He's trying to get a second opinion for a surgery which he really wants and needs. The doctors in China say it's best to get it as soon as possible, but then they needed someone of family to sign the papers, but no one was there, so he lucked out on surgery in China for his condition. The doctors in the US say it's not big enough therefore he needs no surgery. But it's causing him pain and if those suckers pop, he may be a goner for good. I'm not willing to risk it.  My dad isn't willing to risk it. No one is except for the doctors in the US. Why??? Are they really that into having patients pay more because they go into the ER and are dying for their lives? Sorry, I do get a little touchy on this subject because I've many run ins with the the governmental/poltical issue on health. It's just not a really great thing right now.

My dads first time going to UCLA, he had the worse time finding him self there. He was actually late for his appt but luckily they still took him in and saw him. So he was going to take me to UCLA and find a better route, not as congested or whatever..but mostly because of the congestion and is closer parking to the UCLA Medical Plaza.

Since we had no time to go there and check things out, he's going again to his next appt tomorrow, I just hope the traffic isn't as bad as it was that time. At least my mom is accompanying him this time. I don't need to worry as much.

So I'm asking, anyone know a better route my dad can take going south to UCLA? Possibly a closer and better and safer route that takes him closer to the UCLA Medical Plaza???

So I drove home that night. The time passing Castiac, there were mountain fires. Smoke is having a heavy due on my lungs. I'm sure even people in LA area saw the smoke from Castiac, just hope everyone there is okay and the fire is dying or already has died off since yesterday.

Okay gotta get studying or I'm screwed(test today at 11:45am)!! haha poor me too busy lately, sorry if I haven't been commenting on your blogs or visiting you guys much, so very sorry. Too many things happening and school projects are killing me.

Ah yeah...we were at Wing Hop Fung, saw this cutest little chubby boy. He was playing around with the items, then he got over to the bean section, my dad was watching him and said quitely throw it on the ground! lol hahaha funny stuff..
