So what do you guys know how to cook?

Really me, I would like to say alot of things. But uh..the things that I can actually cook is Fried rice, noodles(instant 3 minute ones not the cup of noodles), pancakes, veggies and rice with a rice cooker. lol Oh  yah, I'm good at boiling water!

I watch my parents alot when cooking, I just don't get the chance to cook cuz my sister always throws me out of the kitchen cuz I stirred something the wrong way. Geez...that's why I don't get to cook. So I let her cook it all. Then when she's busy she complains to me that I don't cook. Gee, I wonder why?? lol  She's a reason why I get nervous cooking, she makes me paranoid. Now I can't cook infront of people. I have to hide.

Any recipes you guys wanna pass on?

I wanna cook something for someone. He's been asking for Fried Rice since Sunday....but I hate the electric stove tops and I need to buy a big frying pan (no spillage).  I wonder what else I can cook that is easy.  Orange chicken??? Anyone know how to?

I'm afraid I'll burn it, and I hate the oil that will pop out and burn you.  Tips??? Recipes??

btw, orange chicken and sweet and sour are not easy dishes.  easy to make crappy, hard to make excellent....

don't need BIG frying pan for fried rice.  especially if neither of you are big eaters.  make sure to precook and refrigerate the rice.  if u use fresh rice, undercook it so it's not mushy.  if u like homey 70's style fried rice, use oyster sauce and regular soy sauce.  if you like modern restaurant style, use NO oyster sauce (or very very little) and only light soy sauce.

if u can boil water, then u can cook rice WITHOUT the rice cooker....

simple stuff of course is easy.  like any stir fry, deep fry, or oven baked meat.

harder stuff i'm too lazy to bother with...like stuff with sauces, complex herbs, souffles, quiches, etc.  but i used to be a decent baker when i cared.  chinese style cakes with decoration, baked buns and so forth.

Pasta are the easiest. Not so sure about the oil splatters though. Just dont put it on such high heat. Everyone loves pasta.
As for fried rice I can tell you how I make it but it is up to you to add in the ingredients and some of the seasoning I put in you guys might not have. Let me think of some alternative and it is best to have a big pan for frying rice..

yeah, I can cook but I cook hippie food (lentils, chick peas) and chicken and salmon  and i make a nice Irish stew but when it comes to fried rice, I'm following the NZ bible (Edmond's Cookbook) with all the other plebs.

    Good luck!

I can cook but I feel like it can be so time consuming sometimes.  I usually stick to simple things during the week.  Why don't you make steak or pork chops?  That's pretty easy - just season with some salt and pepper and  cook.    I make fried rice in my soup pot sometimes - works well if you're afraid of splatters :)

Gary, no, not yet. I haven't even gotten the chance to buy any fish at all.

I'm not a train wreck at all really. I just don't wanna burn stuff is all. I enter the kitchen clean and leave it clean.

Janina, lol I'm not even sure if I cut my veggies the right way either haha...*high 5*

I can cook.... not great but I can manage.  I usually like to experiment and cook from recipes.  =)

Yeah, I hate when the oil splatters too.  Hmmm, does it have to be oriental?  I like satay chicken but I never tried making it so no recipe.
