Hope you all have had a great Christmas!

Will be away for awhile. Hope you guys have been doing well. *hugs*

on the 23rd, we had dim sum with auntie and uncle, my sis and I will be going to China next yr June for a week with them. Interesting, but I'd rather go with my mom and dad instead of them. I've only met them three times. Nice, but uh....hmmmm still....not that comfortable.

24th-26th, big sis and fiance came and my sisters' kid DD. 1 big complaint. Have they ever learned of Manners? Where are your manners? None of us said a darn thing about it to them. But it should have been common sence to know what manners are. Or is it because my big sis used to live here, so she thinks she can go into every draw and every room at her pleasing? I don't know, but every room got violated in this house including draws and cubboards, freezers and refrigerators. My middle sisters' Eh-rhu was taken out and messed with, I had to fix it, else my sister would be crying her eyes out for 3 days and still counting. My sister made fun of me for how little I can play on my Ghuzheng. Yes, I've school and can't compherend Mandarian too much, and find that an insult. Oh ya, I was Ordered by her to take my Ghuzheng out of my room for her to see it. That darn sucker is heavy! I declined rightfully. Last time my big sis barged into my room with her fiance. (I have my room locked for good reasons.) Taking a man into my bedroom. Is that not questionable? It's not like they're going to be buying the house or anything otherwise, yes indeed you have to look at everything. But peoples privacy and respect went down the drain completely. There was no respect given to anyone of the hosts. But us (hosts) trying to maintain some respect for them. It was painful having them over. Dreadfully

Funny thing is, DD the daughter, asked my sister to take her into her(mid-sister) room draggingly (literally). She at least asked. My sister and fiance did not even ask one thing and went through the entire house. They ate almost all the candy on the tray that was given to us from a friend. We haven't touched it even, we just barely recieved it and it's gone. Least the daughter had some manners to show, at least.

I really don't think its on us to be hospitable. I think there's a limit or degree somewhere to where you can tolerate an unwanted visitor/s. Blood or not. I think both visitor/s and host/s must be hospitable. Otherwise, like my sister and fiance, it just doesn't work out.

Has anyone ever learned manners or does it just come to them? No one ever taught me manners in my entire life but yet I know manners and have a deep respect for everyone, even people I don't know until they make me loose respect for them. Teachers at school assume your parents teach you. But parents assume teachers at school teach you. At least thats what the convo revealed to me last night with my parents. So where do you learn manners?

Maybe my being out in the boonies has done me wrong, but it's not my fault. Tis where I live and it's peaceful, least for the most part til my mid sister starts making a huge fuss out of not doing something as little as boiling the water....

I don't know, maybe it's just like a relative thing or whatever. But still....should know your boundaries and others. Do not cross the line or you shall be thrown out the house on your booty with only your undies on in 30-59 degree temperature.  well after 30 minutes or so I'll toss out your clothes for ya, I can't be that mean.

Anyone else have bad manner stories you want to share?

I think even if you're not specifically taught, you can learn by how people around you act. If your friends and family are well-mannered, you learn to be too. Did your older sister have a manner problem before she first moved out?

I tell ya...Siblings can treat other siblings pretty badly. It's strange how your older sis doesn't know that things are different in your house now that she's moved out. It's not like when you guys were all little and she could move freely in all rooms like she used to. Adults have to behave accordingly everywhere.

it's toughest with families I think as family tend to take liberties other guests wouldn't (normally) dream of.

imo (as a parent) its a parents job to instill manners and politness (to a point, at some stage standing up for oneself comes before politeness).

Sorry your sis and her finance were not well behaved.
