    First comment my mom gives me from comming back from the first week of school is. "Man you're fat! You're really fat girl! No seriously! Go to the bathroom and weigh yourself to see how fat you are!"

     

     

    She didn't even know what she was saying to me. She could tell I was angry, but went on thinking she's innocent and didn't know what she was talking about.

     

    Just wrong...

    good lord mum's can be so soul destroying sometimes when the are "wanting the best for us"
    you are probably a healthy weight it's just most of the images held up in the media as ideal are actually underweight woman

    I would agree with the others - she's just acting like a typical Asian parent.  It's either gonna be you're fat or you're thin.  Who cares as long as you're comfortable with yourself.  I bet Ryan doesn't think you're fat :P

    Sounds like a mom.  Especially an Asian one heh.  Basically she just cares about you, and wants you to be a supermodel...or something heh.

    Aww. Don’t take that seriously. Maybe she just misses you.
    My mom will always tell me that I’m too thin even if I’m not, but that’s ok I got used to it. I told her she can’t do anything about it ‘coz this just how my weight is.

    ooh~!  and here's my favorite!

    awe... my grandma always tells me that I'm fat too... =( but I haven't really gained weight... I still wear the same jeans.. hahaa...

    Hmm, unfortunately, it's like a natural thing for Asian people to comment on your weight. They can't help it. Don't worry about it.

    Hmm I can relate, and that's messed up. Mom's should know better, and they do. They're not innocent, but in the wrong in this instance..
