gosh, I couldn't imagine not checking into the interent everyday

I have some friends (all older than 40 though), who aren't interested at all.  I guess they just don't need it in their lives.  

Imagine missing out on the joy that is AnD and youtube ^_~

hmmm. it's hard for ppl NOT to come into technology/ computers nowadays... but i think it's harder for those who are older (40s/50s/60s) since they didn't really grow up with computers and the internet.

Well it's also about a lack of motivation or enticement...some people just don't get excited over things that don't make sense to 'em...like personally, I've never heard of the Blackberry until recently...so I did not get the reference when someone on Television made a joke about it... I don't even know I'd be interested in having one or how it works...or how to use it...it all is in the realm of comfort levels...how comfortable are you to push the boundaries of your own mind...? Not many are really at ease with the idea of something foreign and new...sometimes, we would much rather delight in the things that will Always please us...that is how we supposedly remain young...if ya notice how some people get to become like this...like how certain groups of people will idolize their generation of music? It's just like that...it's like a rebellious stance: I'm proud of my generation and the values we represent! haha...it's something like that...cuz we're like: Oh well, it's technology and advancement we should all have the same base level...in theory, at least the idea of equal opportunity/fair use...haha...but alas, some people just don't want....it's not even to insult the intelligence...it's just that...for these certain few...or many...for that matter...knows what works best for 'em...and not always is that a bad thing...sometimes that kind of experience in a supposedly ancient and "outdated" or useless technology...or knowledge...can be the difference between life and death...such as survival....or how about a world where we've become so dependent upon technology...and run on computers...what if, like in Die Hard 4 (live free or die hard, c'mon people! haha....get with the program! haha...) what if our whole infrastructure goes down the toilet? We'd be screwed...and not to say "Oh that is so far-fetched..." it will never happen? Oh, it's not wise to be dismissive either...it is relatively imperative we stay open-minded about all the possible angles...who knows? Maybe the guy who knows how survive with bare necessities will have something to teach us...and sometimes it's not generational either, it could just be different values...and plus, I also learned that if you want to affectively reach out to those...you can't just simply offer your hand out...no often times you'll wonder why no one extended their hands back...it's cuz you gotta give 'em a reason to Trust you haha...silly as that sounds...but the most effective way to do so...is to break the ice...make 'em laugh! haha...make the idea of using the internet sound comfortable...and easy...relatively a non-challenge...just get the idea of relaxation into their heads...that way...it makes the blue pill less appealing...and the red one all the more easier to swallow haha....Enlighten! And note: not always do we need to see to understand...sometimes Our faces are so close to "the computer" that we do not see the words/answers right below our noses haha...but yeah...the intoxicating allure of getting instant feedback is not just the internet's alone...the power of such feedback and instant information...is evident in today's talk show magazine feeds...stuff like AnD or even E! or whatnot...Access Hollywood and stuff gives us instant updates on stuff about Celebs...while the internet allows the masses to communicate really quickly back and forth so it becomes really exciting...to get so much global connection worldwide...it's awesome...just remember...make the people you want to enlighten feel relaxed...and comfy...that way, it's much easier to ease 'em into whatever you want to share with 'em...even if some guy offered me the red pill...he'd have to convince me first...and logic alone won't do it...he'll (Morpheus haha...) have to "show" me the way...haha...and gain my trust...tis the most important....get people to laugh...or hear your joy is enough to convince if not make curious as to why you are getting such a kick out of it...to start exploring on their own haha...for themselves haha...

Some people are just too "old school" to want to learn something new. Maybe with some people, they get the initial thought that it's too hard and complicated and it's hard to change their mindset. Too bad for them.

I have a sister whom is like that. She has no need for it until she needs it. So if you teach in advance, she wont listen or care. But when she needs it, she goes and asks you millions and millions of questions and she's so stressed with it too. I can't handle that type of people.  lol

Plus it makes no sence to not get into something that is beneficial to you.

I feel like they're such babies. lol

guess they still don't see a need for it as yet.. but they will someday.. like you mentioned, everything is becoming computerised these days..

I think some are scared of the temptations that lie on the internet, like online shopping and *ahem* addictive blog sites. For me the internet opened many opportunites, but I can understand how some people fear it too

I don't know how anyone can be a technophobe in this day and age.  The ability to access information is amazing.  There will probably be a day when we won't even need computers to get on the web.

Even my grandpa is learning how to go online.. it's funny!!!

my job is basically off the internet.

yea... it's a little odd... I guess when someone never depended on the computer/internet... then they won't have the desire to use it...

I think I didn't get my first computer until about senior year in high school... had dial-up internet for the longest time... just switched to DSL about 3 years ago... hahaa...

I feel your confoundedness! It's like that thing with me about watching parents holding their babies at the table. haha.
