Just doing some thinking when I should probably not be...hehe Can't help it. But from all the names that I've seen/heard and created there are only so few that I would actually go and name my children.

Well we all know Gwen Paltrow named her daughter Apple, might I say is not a really good idea. Yes original, but could have done some more creativity there. *shrug* I don't know, maybe it's just me.

Another one from a couple with the last name Ho. Anita Ho.....I feel sorry for the daughter.  I'd get a name change if I was her pronto!

hmmm I can't really recall any other ones that are funny.

All of the names I've created are for my anime. One is probably too bad to be a name for a child, I'm not sure...But I still like it. haha

So many names have been used over and over again and are becoming boring. Say: Bob, BillJoe, Michael even?, Thomas/Tom, Nick...too common. Would you name your children these commonly used names, or create your own? I've noticed that Angelina Jolies kids have nice unique names.

And there are also so many nick names that a person would address their lover/bf/gf/husband/wife with. Eg: Sweetie, peach, angel, baby, pumpkin, dearie pooh.... My personal favorite is Huggle bunnie, or just Huggles It's a hug and a cuddle mixed together..hehe then I'd get a hug and a cuddle when I say it.

Just wondering from anyone, what would you name your children or give your S/O (significant other)? That is if you don't mind disclosing such information.

I like classic names, don't really go for the new "unique" types like Apple.  Names like Ashley, Adam, Nicholas, Kristen are nice.  =)

I would like something that's not incredibly common but also not so weird that people would make fun of it.  I've always liked Lucy and Colin.  I think Asian celebrities have a tendency to pick the most ridiculous English names for themselves because they think that they're being unique.  Wrote a blog about that.

Good blog, my daughter has a Maori name (she is Maori on her fathers side) which is unique globally I suppose.

I also quite like some flower names (for girls), Rose, Poppy, Marigold.  I also like Sage and Autumn and Summer but I don't think I would use Winter or Spring ^_~

I haven't put much thought to this...hmm...Isabelle or Trevor sounds nice.

I would refrain from naming your kids Polly or Maximillian. I have a friend name Polly and people would always say "Polly wanna a cracker?" Ooh...just think about how much extra effort you would have to put into saying Maximillian. What were there parent's thinking?

There's apparently a website with a list of real names which are like that. Someone's name is Ben Dover. I've never been to the site though, just read about it somewhere.

I would name my boy Adam or Calvin. I like the name Max too so maybe a middle name of Maximus (Gladiator, anyone?).

For girls, I like Summer, Fara/Farah, Chloe, Trisa. Can you imagine chinese relatives trying to say Chloe? haha. Koe-eey. Or Farah? Fa-lah. haha.

Hmm, that's a good one. I've been thinking for many years. I want an original name but nothing to do with fruits, candy, or product names. Me and my older sister were laughing one day about how we should name ourselves after fruit while we were in HK. We didn't end up calling each other that, but she'd picked Strawberry, and I'd picked Watermelon.

I think I'd like three syllable names which start with A, but there are plenty names not in that category that I still like. Maybe even a name starting with any vowel. I've wondered whether I should pick a name that's hard for Chinese to say, just to be mean. Hehehe!
